About Benaulim Beach
Benaulim beach in Goa is a part of the main stretch of southern beaches
of Goa. It is less than 2 kms away from Colva beach which is equally
famous. Benaulim beach starts in Goa where Colva beach ends. It
is a fairly quite beach but it gets crowded on weekends, when local
visitors pour into the beach. It is well known as the location
of the Taj Exotica, Goa. Benaulim is the perfect place in Goa to
laze around and bathe in the sun.

Major Tourist Attractions
Nossa Senhora de Merces( Our Lady of Mercy) Church
The church is famous for its annual religious event Fama of Menino
Jesuse (Child Jesus) since the 17th century. The Catholic community
celebrates it on the third Monday of October every year. It is one
of Goa's most popular feasts and a huge fair is organised on this
auspicious occasion.
The Church of St. John the Baptist
The beach is also known for the church of St. John, situated on a
hill beyond the village. When the monsoon arrives, feast of St John
the Baptist (Sao Joao) is celebrated as a thanks giving day. People
especially, young men wear crowns of leaves and fruits and around
the area singing for gifts.
The Bull Fights
From early October to late May, from 4 pm onwards, one can enjoy
bull fights at Benaulim. With the Konkani music playing, the
bullfights are usually take place in an old rice field with no
fences or barricades just outside the village.
Beach Activities
Benaulim beach in Goa is known for fishing, Dolphin watching and
Sun bathing. Some adventure sports specially water sports are very

Air: The Dabolim airport is 29 kms away from Panaji and 70 kms from
Benaulim.
Rail: The nearest Railway station is at Karmali, 11 kms from Panaji
and Panaji is 40 kms from 41 kms.
Road: Buses can be taken from Colva and Margao.
Accommodation
Benaulim beach in Goa does not have many options as far as accommodation
is concerned. But the nearby Colva beach has a lot resorts and low
