/ New Jalpaiguri
After breakfast city tour of Kolkata includes the Victoria
Memorial, Digambar Jain Parsvanath temple and the Howrah
Bridge. Evening transfer to the Sealdah Station to board
the Darjeeling Mail to New Jalpaiguri. Overnight on board
the train. |
Day 03 New Jalpaiguri/
Darjeeling
Arrive New Jalpaiguri in the morning. Then board the Toy
Train to Darjeeling for one the most spectacular mountain
train journeys in the world. The route passes through a
very picturesque mountain side and climbs to approximately
7400 feet at Ghoom which is the highest station on the
Indian Railways
network. |

Day 04 Darjeeling
Early morning excursion to Tiger Hill and Ghoom Monastery
to visit Sunrise on the majestic Kanchenjunga range. After
breakfast half day city tour of Darjeeling visiting the
Tibetan Self Help Refugee Centre, Himalayan Mountaineering
Institute, Himalayan Zoological Park and Happy Valley Tea
Garden. Later in the evening walk around the colourful
town of Darjeeling. Dinner & Overnight in the hotel. |

Day 05 Darjeeling / New
Jalpaiguri / Kolkata
Morning free to explore Darjeeling town on your own.
Afternoon transfer to railway station to board Toy train
for your return trip back to New Jalpaiguri where you
connect the Darjeeling Mail to Kolkata. Overnight is on
board the train. |

Day 06 Kolkata
Arrive at Sealdah Station in the morning. Transfer to your
hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Among the possible
activities at Kolkata are a ride on the Kolkata Metro -
the first underground system in the country. Another
possibility is to visit the Mother Teresa's Missionaries
of Charity. Overnight stay at Kolkata. |

Day 07 Kolkata /
Bhubaneshwar
Early morning transfer to Howrah Railway Station to board
the Dhauli Express to Bhubaneshwar. Upon arrival transfer
to your hotel. After some rest sightseeing in Bhubaneshwar.
See the important temples apart from exploring the city.
Dinner & Overnight in the Hotel. |

Day 08 Bhubaneshwar
After breakfast visit the important temples apart from
exploring the city. The centre of the city is the holy "Bindu
Sagar" lake. Once surrounded by 7000 temples, out of them
only 500 temples are well preserved. Dinner & Overnight at
the hotel. |

Day 09 Bhubaneshwar
/ Puri After breakfast drive along the coast to Puri amidst a
landscape of palm trees, rice fields and cashew trees. En
route visit Konark, one of the most vivid architectural
treasures of Hindu India and a World Heritage site. On
arrival at Puri check in at a hotel. Afternoon is free on
the beach to relax. Dinner & overnight in the hotel. |

Day 10
Puri The day is free at leisure on the beach,
go on a boat ride and shop at the local markets. Overnight
stay at Puri. |

Day 11 Puri - Varanasi
After Breakfast transfer to Puri Railway Station to board
Neelanchal Express to Varanasi. The train travels via
Bhubaneshwar to Varanasi. Overnight on board the train. |

Day 12
Varanasi Early morning arrival at Varanasi. Assistance
on arrival and transfer to hotel. Dinner & Overnight stay
at the hotel. |
Day 13 Varanasi /
Agra Enjoy an extremely exciting city tour of Varanasi.
See the beauty of the rising sun on the Ganges Boat Ride.
Experience the early morning rituals and prayers by Hindu
worshipers. Late evening transfer to railway station to
board train to Agra. Overnight on board. |

Day 14 Agra
Assistance on arrival at Agra and transfer to hotel. After
a brief rest visit Taj Mahal. Later visit Agra Fort.
Dinner & Overnight at the hotel.(Taj Mahal Is Closed On
Fridays) |

Day 15 Agra / Kalka
Full day at Agra. Optional sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal
followed by a visit to Itmad-ud-Daulah. Rest of the
afternoon is free. In the evening transfer to Tundla Jn.
Railway Station to board the Kalka Mail to Kalka Jn.
Overnight on board the train. |

Day 16 Kalka / Nalagarh
Arrive at Kalka Jn very early in the morning. Upon arrival
transfer to Nalagarh Fort which is located in the
foothills of the Himalayas. Rest of the day is at leisure. |

Day 17 Nalagarh / Kalka /
Shimla
A short drive back to Kalka Junction where you board the
fascinating Toy Train to Shimla.Upon arrival at Shimla
transfer to hotel for overnight stay. |

Day 18 Shimla
Breakfast at the hotel. During the day take a stroll
around the city. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight
stay at Shimla. |

Day 19 Shimla / Kalka /
New Delhi
/ Depart Transfer to railway station for the return trip
back to Kalka Jn. Arrive Kalka Jn and drive back to Delhi
to be in time to catch up some rest and / or your last
minute souvenir shopping. In the evening a farewell dinner
at the hotel will bring this trip to a memorable
conclusion. Depending on your onward flight transfer
will be provided to the International airport for your
flight back home. |
